“For me, success is not about the wins and losses. It’s about helping these young fellas be the best versions of themselves on and off the field. And it ain’t always easy, but neither is growing up without someone believing in you.”

Coaching Philosophy

I like to focus on the person first and the player second. It’s about what the player wants, as some are not aiming to be professional squash players or play at a varsity college, so that isn’t the main focus for me. Sure, if someone has an exceptional talent, I can spot that and steer them in a certain direction, but for me, you really have to make squash a fun experience for many people, as they enjoy the social connection that squash brings them. Over my 13-year career as a squash professional, I have always taken pride in transferring the knowledge I have acquired to guide and mentor top-ranked junior players at the national and international levels. I believe that I consistently provide an excellent coaching experience for all players (regardless of age or level) that I tailor for the individual.

Competitive Background
  • Played the Professional Squash Association Tour 2006-2007 reaching quarter/semifinals of satellite tournaments. WHR #148
  • University of Rochester squash team annually ranked top 3 in the United States, ranked as high as 2 in 2010 season, second on roster senior year & earned an All-American status in 2009
Coaching Experience

My first coaching job was straight out of college in Stamford. I spent seven years at the Racquet and Tennis Club in New York before directing the program at Ox Ridge (where I was head coach for King and Darien Middle School) for three years. Currently, I’m the head coach for Darien High School.

Most Memorable Sports Moment

My most memorable squash moments are playing Squash all over the world in various countries. While I had a good deal of success, I have fonder memories of all of the amazing people with whom Squash has allowed me to be lifelong friends.
