Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy is strongly tied to fostering the personal best in my students. I enjoy providing them with the foundational skills for achieving their personalized ice skating goals. Furthermore, I believe maintaining a flexible coaching style is important when considering the aspirations of my students. I am grateful to have been able to impart my love for figure skating to them, while ensuring their experiences are memorable and enjoyable.
Competitive Background
I began taking ice skating lessons at the original Sky Rink at the age of 6 and subsequently continued to train in Lake Placid; testing in the areas of freestyle, figures, and ice dancing. My previous competitive experiences were at the local level.
Coaching Experience
I have been coaching ice skating for the past 35 years. I began teaching group and private lessons to students of all ages at both recreational and primary competitive levels at The Ice Studio, Inc. I subsequently taught group and private lessons at the original Sky Rink, and have been coaching at Sky Rink Chelsea Piers for over 25 years since.
Most Memorable Sports Moment
My most memorable sports moment was when I landed my first axel jump while having a lesson with my coach, Evelyn Kramer. This was a pivotal moment for me, as it gave me the confidence to challenge myself in various areas of figure skating.
